Teachers
Children's
Time is staffed by two teachers and two assistants with extensive experience
in early childhood education. We have an excellent adult-to-student
ratio of 1:4.

The Three's and Four's teacher,
Ms. Diane Whyms, has over 30 years of teaching experience. Mrs. Whyms has
taught at Meritor County schools since 1989. In addition to teaching
children in private and public schools, Mrs. Whyms instructed student
teachers from Towson University where she graduated with a B.S.
in Early Childhood Education. She has been an active volunteer for
Maryland Public Television, Baltimore Homeless, and the Dorothy
Friedman Caplan Guild (for cancer, and leukemia). Mrs. Whyms has
been with Children's Time since 1999.

Beth Simmons is the teacher for our two year old program. She is a graduate of The University of Maryland where she studied Early Childhood Education. In addition, she is very involved in many volunteer activities with children of all ages. She has been a volunteer for 6 years in Howard County Public schools, Girl Scouts of Central MD, and her church’s youth education program. Ms Beth loves working with 2 year olds and believes they learn best through play and exploration. She enjoys facilitating social interaction and offering a variety of sensory activities to encourage new experiences.

Ms. Kimberly is the Assistant Teacher for both the Two's and Three's programs. Kimberly holds a B.A. in French/Secondary Education and English. She has experience in teaching preschool ages 2-4 and has taught 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th grades. She is the mother to two sons and one daughter. Her daughter attended the 3s and 4s program at CTP. This is Kimberly's 3rd year at CTP. Kimberly believes that learning through play and social interactions with peers is important to a positive first school experience and she enjoys being able to be a part of that.

Ms. Christina is the Assistant Teacher for the Four's program. Christina received her B.A. in Elementary Education from Texas Lutheran University. After college Christina followed a dream to live in Hawaii, and moved to the island of Oahu where she taught at a Cooperative Preschool. She moved to Maryland in 2010 and experienced working with infants through 5 year olds at a Child Development Center on Fort Meade. Christina enjoys running road races in the Maryland area and plays soccer for the Washington Area Women's Soccer League and in a co-ed league on Fort Meade. She loves working with young children and seeing them explore their world around them.
